AN ethical bed manufacturer is opening it’s first showroom in Ealing, promising six new jobs for borough residents.
Warren Evans, an Observer Ethical Awards and Sunday Times Best Green Companies winner, will open the doors at 96-122 Uxbridge Road - its 12th showroom site - this Saturday.
England’s largest independent bed maker, the company manufactures its products in a specialised workshop staffed by craftsmen using only green products and processes.
Community regeneration is close to the company’s ethical heart - and influenced it’s Ealing move.
“It's extremely important to us to employ local people and to become part of the local community,” said founder Warren Evans.
““We want to give something back and support the needs of others.”
With 55,000 out-of-work residents, Ealing has the ninth highest unemployment rate of London’s boroughs.
Warren’s Uxbridge Road showroom will offer six jobs in an effort to tackle the problem. Roles include a showroom manager, assistant manager and sales executives.
“We’d also like to work with other like-minded businesses and charities where we can,” Mr Evans added.
The first 10 customers to order a bed from Warren Evans Ealing will receive complimentary under-bed storage.
