THE finishing touches are being put to the latest homes to be built as part of Ealing Council’s £22.7m new-build programme.

Councillor Hitesh Tailor, cabinet member for housing, employment and skills was given a preview of the newest homes, three large three-bedroom houses in Hoylake Road, East Acton.

They will be available for eligible families on the waiting list to occupy at the end of March.

They are among 309 new properties across four underused sites within the borough. All should be available by 2016.

Most sites will include a mixture of one- and two-bedroom flats, as well as larger houses.

A further five three-bedroom houses are currently being built in Epsom Close, Northolt, also available at the end of this month. Further homes are being built in Carlyle Road, South Ealing, due for release in May.

The council has received a total of £12.1m from the Greater London Authority and Homes and Communities Agency since 2009 towards the costs of building.

Construction firm Sandwood Design & Build is carrying out the building work on behalf of Ealing.
