The news reported in last week's Ealing Times that Ealing has seen rises in crime outstripping many other London boroughs is very worrying.
Perhaps most worrying of all were the statistics on violent crime, with seven murders now committed in Ealing in the past year.
Combined with last week's bomb scare, we now have a clear picture of already stretched police resources with little if no slack to respond to wider emergency situations, and crime in the borough escalating.
Quite simply, under Labour, police numbers are down and crime in Ealing is rising. This is in spite of the £670 a year more in tax that the average working family now pays.
Results from this Labour Government are always coming tomorrow, never today. Just how long, and how big a majority does Labour need before it can deliver on its promises?
