I am writing to ask your readers to nominate someone they think deserves a British Red Cross Humanity Award.
The Humanity Awards, sponsored by AstraZeneca, one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies, recognise unsung heroes who have come to the aid of others, without thought of a reward for themselves.
This year's theme is 'ordinary people do extraordinary things everyday', and we are looking for men, women and children who have shown extraordinary courage and compassion for others.
They could be nominated for rescuing someone after an accident, or for just being there when someone has gone through a personal crisis. I am sure you all know someone who deserves to be given a Humanity Award and you have until August 25 to nominate that special person. So go on, tell us about them. Call free on 0800æ169æ7173 or write to Care in Crisis Awards, British Red Cross, Freepost, SW1X 7BR, or pick up a form from your local shop or branch.
