Border Agency swoop on illegal immigrants in King Street, Southall
ELEVEN illegal workers were arrested and detained by the UK Border Agency on Tuesday.
Officers from UKBA and the Met arrested the Indian nationals, aged 28-65, in King Street, Southall.
One had entered the country illegally and was granted immigration bail. The remaining 10 have overstayed their visas and are being detained until they are removed from the UK.
Assistant Director of the UK Border Agency Sarah Burton, said: “My officers are carrying out operations like this almost every day across West London, targeting those who are here illegally and those who would employ them.”
In June last year, there were 36 arrests at the same site."
Chief Inspector Colin Wingrove, of Ealing Police, said: “This is another excellent example of partnership working to tackle illegal immigration and other related crime in our communities.”
