Song melted social barriers in Ealing on Friday night as young and old gathered for the multicultural finale of Millennium Music Week.
Under the inspired direction of the Borough's music services co-ordinator Mary Helyer, and conductor Paul Ayres, hundreds of choristers performed in the appropriately titled, Meltdown, before an enthusiastic audience at the Town Hall.
The line-up of choirs included Hanwell Children's Choir, the Ealing Youth Choir and the Ealing Young Singers.
Also performing were Ealing Voices, a teacher's choir, and the Ealing Junior Music School. Interval displays were provided by Thames Valley University and the Ealing Young Singers Association, who were accompanied by the Ealing Junior Music School Wind Quintet.
