There are over 1,000 families in the west of London and North Surrey who have in their family a child who is already terminally ill or who suffers from a life-limiting illness.

At present there is very little support available for those families and the care and support that could be offered by a Children's Hospice would make a real difference to their lives.

The Shooting Star Children's Hospice Appeal aims to change that. We have raised over £1æmillion towards the creation of a children's hospice.

Land and planning permission have been obtained and plans drawn up. We are now on the verge of being able to start building.

This is a crucial time. All of the annual revenue costs of the children's hospice, over £1æmillion per annum, has to be raised every year by the trust. To help with this we are setting up local 'Friends' groups in each area.

These groups will play a vital role in helping to raise money, not just for the building but also for the on-going running costs when it opens.
