AN innovative new website, Ealing Involved, aims to change the face of community action since its launch yesterday.

The website supports Ealing residents, community groups, businesses and public bodies, highlighting their work and making volunteering opportunities more accessible.

It is a joint initiative by Ealing Community and Voluntary Service, Ealing Council and social media company Stickyboard.

ECVS chief executive Andy Roper said: “ECVS has been supporting local community action for 35 years.

“We can now use modern technology to make it even easier for local people and organisations who want to make a contribution to their local community.”

People can use the website to discover community groups and get involved by offering their skills as volunteers or donating money or goods.

Residents and community groups will have easy access to information on local campaigns and consultations and be able to post up short videos and “soundcloud” interviews showing local communities in action.

Angela Bell, Chair of Ealing CVS, described the website as attractive and easy to use.

Community groups Volunteer Link Scheme and Southall Black Sisters welcomed the support.

Amelia Clarke, Director of VLS, said: “What is incredible about this website is it will make our organisation visible. It has given us a fantastic platform.”

Ealing Involved has been funded through the Cabinet Office and Ealing Council.
