Empire site: a new developer will be sought
EMPIRE Cinemas has run out of time to begin work at its Ealing Broadway site, according to the council.
It decided to apply for a compulsory purchase order for the disused site at a cabinet meeting of July 25.
Council leader Julian Bell said: “We’ve been very patient with them, but enough is enough.”
Also agreed at the meeting was a decision to begin looking for a new developer to buy the site and build a cinema in Ealing, which has not had one since 2008.
