Review: Comic pairing works a treat at Swan's panto in High Wycombe

Lesley Joseph as Fairy Godmother Lesley Joseph as Fairy Godmother

LESLEY Joseph and Matt Slack are a pantomime dream team and had the Wycombe Swan audience last night eating out of the palm of their hands.

The Birds of a Feather star took the role of the kind yet slightly moody Fairy Godmother in this year's panto, Cinderella, while comedian Slack played the loveable and very funny Buttons.

It is easy to see that Joseph is a professionally trained actress as her comic timing was perfect and she played her role with ease. This was complimented by Slack, who knows exactly how to make the children and the adults in the audience laugh.

They were surrounded by a stalwart cast with beautiful sets and the lighting deserves a special mention as it brought a magical feel to the theatre.

We went as a family group on Tuesday. It was a brilliant performance with great humour, pathos and dancing. We were smiling, chuckling and laughing out loud, All of us thoroughly enjoying a most entertaining evening.

The Swan is a great Venue and this is one of the best evenings I have had in live theatre. Lesley Joseph and Matt Slack worked so well with each other, the rest of the cast and the audience, especially Tony in the third row. Just brilliant!!! I recommend it to anyone.
