THE first part of the evening comprised a very funny play written by David Tristram entitled The Fat Lady Sings in Little Grimley. It tells the story of a failing drama group who find they have a rival group in the next village and set about sabotaging their next production.
Margaret, well played by Megan Boddy by was the rather posh lady trying to keep the group together.
Rosie Whitelock was hilarious as the timid and rather dim Joyce whose impossible dream was to stage a musical with only four members.
Martin Stephen skilfully played the belligerent and sardonic Gordon whose wife had run of with their leading man and was now running the rival group and Alan Frost was a very laid back Bernard who always seemed to be eating a banana and suggesting they all retired to the local pub.
A series of funny events transpired with the Little Grimley Players coming out on top.
During the interval we were entertained by Pearl Chubb who played the piano on stage and gave a rendition of music from the shows.
The second half comprised a series of sketches, songs and monologues which made a up an entertaining evening.
