New opportunities are available for young people wanting to get experience on the stage, thanks to the newly named and revamped Palace Youth Theatre.

Jen Thomas, learning coordinator, says: “Our previous programme, made up of three age groups, met once a week to work on performance skills. This meant we had a waiting list of about two years for non-members who wanted to get involved.’ From September 2008, young people aged 11-18 will have the opportunity to participate in a series of projects held at the theatre. There will also be opportunities for those over 18 or under 11 to get involved with one-off events and projects later in the year. Each project will last six weeks with two sessions every Saturday from 10am-noon and 12.30pm-2.30pm.

Jen adds: “There will be no waiting list – if you don’t get onto one project, we will try to make sure you get on the next one that interests you. As a member of PYT, you will have access to ticket offers exclusive to PYT members.”
