Wembley Music Centre (WMC) is joining forces with the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance to offer free music lessons, as part of this year’s National Learn to Play Day.

Hoping to promote the benefits of music education, four of the institute’s tutors, all of whom are professional musicians, will offer taster sessions in electric/acoustic guitar, drums, bass and vocals, alongside solo and group performances. The facility’s students will also be on hand to assist with teaching and provide entertainment throughout the day.

Furthermore, participants will be able to take part in a raffle to raise money for UK charity Music For All, with prizes including a guitar and bass from WMC, and a free part-time course at the institute.

National Learn to Play Day, which was set up by Music for All in partnership with the Musicians Union, MusicTeachers.co.uk, Arts Council England, Take it Away and MusicRadar.com, is an initiative to encourage more people to take up an instrument by providing people of any age an opportunity to engage in a free music lessons.

National Learn to Play Day is at Wembley Music Centre, Wembley Drum Centre Unit 8, Metro Trading Centre, Fifth Way, Wembley, on April 12, 11am until 4pm. Reserve your space: bookings@icmp.co.uk
