Dinosaur figurines wrapped in computer cords, rainbow landscapes and geometric paintings are among the diverse works on show at The Paper Trail this month.

Exhibition Material Matters brings together members of ArtWork, a group of former Fine Art students from Herts University who have been friends for more than 20 years.

After graduating, they all went in different directions, including teaching, garden design and journalism, but come together each year to show off their work.

This latest exhibition includes drawings, paintings, printmaking, photography, textiles, ceramics and paper pulp artworks.

And this time the group will also be trying something different and collaborating from 12 noon to 3pm when the exhibition is open to make a piece of art right in front of the public’s eyes.

Angela Edmonds from Watford says: “I am really excited about our latest exhibition as we are doing something completely different.

“Every day we are open we are collaborating on a piece of art and who knows what the result will be?”

Fellow Watford creative Sue Eyles will be exhibiting pieces reflecting the struggle to seek the truth, such as large papier maché rosary beads, which she says are partly based on her Catholic upbringing and “the baggage that comes with it”.

The other artists are Jean Atkinson, Liz Boast, Asiya Clarke, Elaine Ettkind, Frances Ewing-Press, Penny Figgis, Lorraine Fox, Mitzie Green, Barbara Jepps, Terry Sadler and Jenny Watts.
