CWMBRAN Celtic slipped deeper into the Welsh League Division 1 relegation battle after losing 2-0 at championship title chasers Haverfordwest Town last Saturday.

After a goalless first half the home side scored twice in the 2nd period to clinch the points which keep them in third place in the table. On 65 minutes a superb through ball by substitute Anthony Finnselbach found striker Jack Christopher who veered to the right before unleashing an unstoppable shot past Celtic keeper Nicky Church.

In the 75th minute Haverfordwest made the game safe when Christopher turned provider setting up an easy tap in for substitute Owen James.

Celtic remain in 11th place and with a 6 point gap opening up above them the scrap for survival at the bottom of the table is between Celtic and the 4 teams placed below them. Despite the defeat injury stricken Celtic can take encouragement from a battling performance. The pick of their players were midfielder Owen Cook and left back Billy Crees who put in a storming display before withdrawing at half-time with a leg injury.
