COMEDY season begins at the Elgiva at the start of September with a range of acts on offer.

Robin Ince kicks off the line up on September 9 at 8pm and on September 23 Girls Night takes the stage following a successful stint in the West End. The show follows five thirty and forty-something friends as they relive their past on a wild karaoke night out.

Jim Davidson in on stage on October 8 and to top it all comedian, writer and broadcaster Arthur Smith will take the limelight on November 18. Smith is A BBC regular, known for his appearances on Grumpy Old Men, Q.I’ and Have I Got News For You.

ONE of the most respected and popular musicians on the current British jazz scene is the star guest of Marlow Jazz Club for its only August date.

On Tuesday, August 17, Art Themen will appear alongside the resident Frank Toms Trio. Art is now semi retired from his well publicised 'day job' as a leading bone surgeon, and has more time to devote to delighting his many jazz fans. Music starts at 8.30pm at the British Legion Hall. More details on www.marlowjazz.co.uk THE HOLOGRAMS 2 exhibition is coming to the Buckinghamshire County Museum this summer.

Visitors will get the chance to see holograms created by leading holographic artists using different techniques.

It runs until October 31 at the museum in Church Street, Aylesbury. Open Monday to Saturday and Bank Holidays from 10am-5pm and Sundays 2pm-5pm. Admission is free.

POSTMAN Pat is coming to the Wycombe Swan on A Very Royal Mission as the newly-promoted Head of the SDS.

In Pencaster everyone has received a letter from the Palace, delivered by Pat and his cat Jess, as someone very special is coming to the new SDS sorting office.

JULIAN Renouf will be exhibiting his art at the West Wycombe Art Group's summer exhibition during the August bank holiday in the village hall.

Renouf paints a host of subjects including animals, portraits, still life, landscapes and architecture in various media.

The exhibition is open from Friday, August 27 until Tuesday, August 31 from 10am- 6pm (Friday and Tuesday 5pm)
