PUNK outfit Max Raptor are set to play Oxfordshire’s Truck Festival on July 19.

Here singer Wil Ray talks about their new album and 2013 highlights.

We caught up with you last summer, after you played Reading Festival. What have you been up to since then?

We recorded our first full length album in a Methodist chapel in Lincolnshire. Been hammering out some great shows and preparing for our album and single launches.

You’re playing the Truck Festival in July - what do you have planned for that?

Rather than using one of the many amazing cliche replies of "we're going to tear Oxfordshire a new one" or "we're literally going to smash truck festival, hard" Infact what is going happen is that we're going to play some new tracks and some old tracks and I suggest you all come down... and have a party!!!

Will you also be unleashing your new songs from your upcoming album ‘Mothers Ruin’? (set to be released in the autumn).

Absolutely...

Describe what your new album is like?

It's a load of stories a bit like a newspaper I guess looking at Britain and the outside world... it's heavy in places but melodic in others... Chants, shouts, pushing, shoving, sombre and uplifting... can't wait for everyone to hear it.

Do you have any other big festivals planned for the summer?

We have some great festivals this year. 2000 trees, truck of course, redfest, ynot and a load of others.

Where would you like to be in a year’s time?

The Turks and Caicos Islands What has been your 2013 highlight so far? I think getting some recognition from Radio 1 and the big stations. It's all moving towards this album release and I hope everyone gets behind it as much as we want everyone to hear it!

Max Raptor’s new single Breakers is released on July 15.
