Bus is sitting pretty on a rooftop

THIS is the moment a single decker bus was crane-lifted on top of a building on the A40 to mark the opening of a new bus garage.

The Metroline bus was lifted on to the Vanguard Storage building on Friday in preparation for the opening of London's newest and most innovative bus garage in Perivale.

The storage facility building is well known for the vast array of objects that can be seen from Hanger Lane including a canon for the British Museum, a light aircraft and most recently an Aston Martin.

Steve McAleavy, Metroline managing director, said: "Our recruitment team came up with the innovative idea of putting a bus on the roof because of the amount of people who pass by it."
