A POLITICAL party has vowed to continue fighting the proposed expansion of Heathrow Airport, after the opening of Terminal 5 on Friday.

Sarah Edwards, the Green Party's London Assembly candidate for Ealing and Hillingdon, said the group has not been put off by the end of a consultation period, in February.

She said: "Our message to BAA is airport expansion must terminate at Terminal 5'.

"It's time to think about the devastating impact expanding aviation will have on other people and the planet."
